Photograph a lighting match


What you need?

  1. Matches
  2. Candle
  3. Something to stick the match into (fruit or even blue-tac)
  4. cup of water (to put your matches in then done - safety first!)
  5. Your camera (Obviously)
  6. Shutter release (If you have one)


Settings


  • Shutter speed 1/800th second
  • Aperture to F5.6
  • ISO 100
  • Camera to continuous shoot

The shot

Light the candle. Press and hold the shoot button and wait.... and wait ..... and wait. If your waiting to long make the gap between the candle and the match smaller so it lights quicker (not to close and it will end up the the shot which you don't want) ... then try again.


Once the match has been used and you got the shot, place the watch in a cup of water (Safety first!)
